Legal / Litigation Services - Oakbridge Lawyers

Unfortunately history shows that some debtors simply won't pay unless they are well and truly pushed to do so. In these circumstances, and where the amount warrants it, leave no stone unturned!

The issuing of legal action is an important escalation point within the debt collection process and may be the ideal solution to your problem that forces them into paying their account to you. We can assist with the full legal process from the initial issuing of a Complaint (or Summons) right through to bankruptcy or the sale of property to get you your money.

Legal services in Victoria are provided by our own in-house firm, Oakbridge Lawyers Pty Ltd, and in South Australia we utilise the services of Scott Lawyers.

Our experienced staff will discuss the various legal options available to you on a case-by-case basis, and consult direct with our lawyer/associate lawyers on more difficult matters. It is also important for you to know that, in many cases, almost all of the costs incurred in the issuing of legal action may be treated as recoverable from your debtor.

The majority of legal actions are processed by our lawyers automatically through to the Courts by Electronic Data Interchange (EDI) and issued out of the court closest to where the debt arose. Files are transmitted to the Courts on a daily basis and returned as issued the following morning, thus providing our clients with a 24 hour turnaround from instruction to issue. Claim details are automatically uploaded into the debtors file on our collection system and can be viewed on-line 24/7 by our clients.

Agents local to where the debtor resides are engaged by the GSCM group to ensure prompt and efficient service of documents for our clients. Where our own solicitor is unable to appear on your behalf, external legal representation at Court/Tribunal hearings can be arranged for you through our established panel of experienced solicitors and barristers.
